A key member of the Operational Management Team at Diversified Tooling Innovations that will provide leadership and vision for Financial Performance, Machine Shop Production, and Continuous Improvement. A Leader with an exceptional business mind capable of bringing new ideas and utilizing skills to maximize customer satisfaction and ensuring cost effective delivery of quality parts.
Key duties and responsibilities:
- Responsible for financial performance including managing revenue and expenses, controlling costs, setting and managing budgets, forecasting financial results, and implementing strategies to increase profitability and reduce costs to meet the plant's bottom line.
- Have a long-term strategic view, work with the Operational Management team to guide and develop the business towards further successful growth.
- Drive and implement lean projects with proven success of waste elimination techniques, six sigma tools, and continuous learning.
- Provide overall responsibility for all resources assigned to the Machine Shop, to achieve great quality, cost, and service objectives and to ensure all quality programs, initiatives and commitments are maintained and enhanced.
- Ability to optimize the utilization of resources in terms of people, machines, and material.
- Support the site Integration of new manufacturing processes and ensure the optimal flow of the department during this period.
Other responsibilities:
- Create, support, and manage the achievement of departmental KPI’s.
- Promote and maintain a safe, clean working environment.
- Support the maintenance of all relevant health and safety regulations.
- Encourage two-way communication and feedback.
- Provide feedback on issues and concerns arising, along with potential solutions.
- Drive the team to achieve ‘Right First Time’ manufacture of components as well as on-time delivery of parts.
- Ensure the available resources are fully utilized daily and cross functional training is considered to support business growth.
- Liaison between Management and Supervisor level on matters of communication, decisions, policies and procedures. Perform employee evaluations and appraisals.
Education and Experience:
- BS degree in Business Management or related field or equivalent education and work experience
- Proven work and managerial experience as a Plant Manager in a target driven environment.
- Adequate knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources)
- Able to read and understand technical drawings. Understands GD&T desired.
- Experience with prototypes and quoting.
- Possess knowledge of various metal types and conditions, and their effect on the manufacturing process.
- Experience with CNC equipment, programming, tooling fixture, speeds & feeds, and operating sequences.
- Desire experience in a "job shop" environment -low quantities, highly technical pieces.
- Familiarity with 3 to 6 axis CNC lathes and vertical and horizontal machining centers.
- Good, effective communication skills both written and verbal.
- A flexible and proactive ‘can do’ attitude.
- Desire Solid Works experience.
- Experience with Quality Management System & Continuous Improvement.
- Experience with MS Office applications and ERP software, Plex desired.
