A leading manufacturer of coated recycled paperboard and converted products is seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead operations at its integrated paper and converting facilities in Peru, Indiana. This role oversees two paper machines (CRB) and a union hourly workforce, reporting directly to the VP of Mill Operations.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead daily operations of the mill and converting facilities with a focus on safety, quality, and productivity
· Manage and mentor production, maintenance, and support teams across all shifts
· Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the plant
· Execute production plans, ensuring on-time delivery and adherence to quality specifications
· Implement and sustain safety and environmental policies in compliance with all regulations
· Monitor KPIs—production rates, yield, energy, quality, and cost performance—and drive corrective actions
· Partner with engineering and reliability teams to improve uptime and reduce waste
· Develop budgets, forecasts, and capital project plans to support growth and modernization
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Paper Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
· 10+ years in paper manufacturing with at least 3 years in a leadership or plant management role
· Proven ability to lead a union manufacturing workforce
· Strong understanding of paper machine operations (CRB experience highly preferred)
· Demonstrated success implementing OPEX / continuous improvement programs
· Financial and analytical acumen; data-driven decision maker
· Excellent communication, leadership, and team development skills
