Position Summary:
The
Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for leading the
Cleaning, Detailing and Crating teams towards the creation of
superior-quality products that are delivered on schedule and within budget, aligning with the Kurt J. Lesker Company’s standards for excellence. This key position also encompasses the
strategic development of the department’s infrastructure, processes, machinery, and team composition to ensure they are in sync with the
evolving business demands and
overarching objectives of the Kurt J. Lesker Company.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Cleaning, Detailing and Crating personnel to ensure adherence to schedules, policies, procedures, and documentation standards across all areas of responsibility
- Enhance team performance through development training, development, clear communication, performance appraisals, and quality-focused leadership
- Optimize departmental operations through effective workflow planning, mechanical expertise, and training to maintain a clean, safe, and efficient environment
- Manage troubleshooting efforts by coordinating teams and resources, resolving issues systematically, and communicating progress to management
- Foster a respectful, professional, and safety-focused workplace culture
- Manage staff’s timecards and schedules, including oversight of overtime
- Monitor key metrics to identify issues and drive corrective actions
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-equipped workspace following 6S principles
- Manage the requisition of departmental supplies, ensuring availability as per the evolving needs of the department
- Proactively initiate enhancements to equipment based on operational requirements, and actively engage in both capital and continuous improvement initiatives
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Industrial engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience will also be considered
- Minimum of 5 years’ supervisory experience
- Demonstrated ability to develop high-performing teams
- Previous experience in a manufacturing/production environment
- Experience with lean manufacturing tools and methodologies
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and understanding Enterprise Resources Systems (ERP) system functionality
- Ability to bend, stoop, squat, twist and lift up to and including 60 lbs. unassisted. Assistance must be used for any items over this weight. Assistance is always required for anything weighing over 60 lbs

- Use of PPE including steel toe shoes, safety glasses, respirator, and hearing protection
