POSITION DESCRIPTION:
- Performs nursing functions within scope of LPN licensure
- Strong LPN skills required
- Works closely with all members of the nursing team and must have the ability to adapt to changing day to day environment/clinical settings
- Administering medications and treatments in compliance with federal, state, local, and facility policies
- Maintaining confidentiality and rights of residents, family, employee, and facility information in compliance with HIPPA policies and applicable regulations
- Interacting cooperatively with residents, families, visitors, and other staff
LPN POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Completion of an accredited school of practical nursing
- Current license as a Licensed Practical Nurse ( LPN ) in the State of PA
- Required experience for Licensed Practical Nurse ( LPN ): Nursing: 1 year
- Required license or certification for Licensed Practical Nurse ( LPN ): LPN
Responsibilities for LPN:
- Responsible to supervise nurses and aides for Long Term Care facility
- Must be willing to work as supervisor and assisting with med carts
- Work with the facility's Director of Nurses and Assistant and implement recommended changes as required
- See residents and monitor resident care and report changes to the Director of Nursing (DON)
- Assess newly admitted or readmitted residents and document in the 24 - hour report. Follow up on residents as needed
- Monitor nursing staff to ensure proper documentation on MARs, nurses notes, accident/ incident reports, physician's orders and treatment records
- Liaison between nursing staff and attending physicians. Assess the necessity of calls to the physicians. Assess the necessity of calls to the physicians during off business hours
- Checks to see that all supplies are in proper place and all equipment is functioning
