About Me and Versus

I’m building Versus LLC, a new, privately held holding company. We will acquire and operate profitable, real-world businesses — restaurants, hospitality, healthcare, manufacturing, and local services.

No unproven tech, no speculative startups. Just solid, cash-flowing companies that can be improved through better systems, automation, and disciplined management.

We’re now ready to begin acquiring one to two businesses per month, and I’m looking for a Chief Operating Officer who can start immediately and take ownership of both deal execution and operational integration.

What You’ll Do (Right Away)

Lead due diligence and operational walkthroughs of each potential acquisition — evaluate financials, customer traffic, employee quality, and site condition before final approval.
Oversee all direct reports and division heads across acquired companies — ensuring each business operates to standard, meets KPIs, and maintains profitability.
Build and manage organizational structures within each company post-acquisition, including hiring, training, and performance management of local general managers and key staff.
Conduct on-site operational assessments of restaurants, hotels, retail stores, manufacturing facilities, or healthcare locations to confirm investment fit and integration potential.
Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) across all portfolio companies for finance, HR, compliance, and daily operations.
Coordinate with lenders, accountants, and attorneys during acquisitions to ensure smooth closings and proper post-close financial setup.
Oversee financial and operational reporting systems, ensuring accurate data flow from each business to the holding company.
Identify underperforming assets and design turnaround or optimization strategies (staffing, pricing, systems, or vendor renegotiations).
Manage cross-company initiatives like payroll migration, insurance renewals, software standardization, and HR compliance.
Serve as the primary operational liaison between the CEO and each portfolio company — ensuring alignment with Versus LLC’s overall strategy and financial goals.
Partner with the CEO on long-term scaling strategy, including prioritizing acquisition targets, building lender relationships, and setting annual performance benchmarks.

You’ll be executing immediately — not waiting two months to “get familiar.” The goal is to build a repeatable acquisition engine.

Compensation Structure

Base Salary: $150,000
Guaranteed Year-One Bonus: $25,000 minimum
Deal Bonus: Paid at closing, based on the quality and efficiency of each deal — rewarding leverage optimization, purchase discipline, and negotiation outcomes.
Bonuses are tiered for lifetime volume: 100 % for the first $25M, 75 % for $25–50M, 50 % for $50–75M, and 25 % beyond $75M total volume.
Performance Bonus: 1 % of verified increase in normalized EBITDA (paid over two years).
Portfolio Profit Share: 4 % of audited, portfolio-wide EBITDA (four-year vesting with one-year cliff).

All performance is tied to clear, auditable results — not subjective reviews.

Who You Are

You’ve closed multiple small-to-mid-market acquisitions or led integrations personally.
You understand SBA, conventional, and mezzanine financing structures.
You can model deals, talk to lenders, negotiate seller notes, and lead diligence end-to-end.
You’re comfortable running lean — doing what’s needed to close deals and get operations stable.
You can manage across industries and keep every acquisition performing once it’s closed.
