A leading global real estate and project delivery firm is seeking a Head of Projects to oversee a high-performing project management team in the Washington, DC region. This is a senior leadership role for a results-driven construction professional with a strong background in general contracting and a proven ability to deliver complex projects from concept through completion.
About the Role
As Head of Projects, you’ll lead a regional team of Project Managers delivering commercial, institutional, and corporate build-outs across the DC metro area. You’ll be responsible for driving operational excellence, ensuring client satisfaction, and fostering a culture of accountability, agility, and innovation.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of project management professionals delivering projects across diverse sectors.
- Oversee all phases of the project lifecycle, from preconstruction planning through closeout.
- Serve as the strategic partner to clients, ensuring quality, cost, and schedule targets are met.
- Implement best practices for project delivery, risk management, and operational efficiency.
- Navigate and resolve complex challenges with a hands-on, solutions-focused approach.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, contractors, and key stakeholders.
About You
- 15+ years of experience in construction and project delivery, ideally with a General Contractor background.
- Proven ability to manage multiple project teams and small, or large-scale initiatives.
- Strong leadership presence — able to influence, motivate, and drive accountability.
- Resilient, bold, and resourceful — someone who doesn’t take “no” for an answer.
- Adept at balancing strategic oversight with hands-on involvement when needed.
- Sales mindedness, with strong financial knowledge and P&L management experience
