The Debs Center - New York Office
Position:
Part-Time- Office of the President Administrative Assistant, reporting to the Associate Director of Operations and the Director of the Debs Center / Secretary of the University
Schedule:
In-person-Monday, Tuesday, and Thursdays, approx. 25 hours a week; occasional Wednesday and Fridays for events
Start Date: Immediate
Salary: $22 per hour
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
· Bachelor’s degree preferred
· Minimum of 3 years of administrative experience
· Experience within the field of Higher Education preferred
· Highly organized / Attention to detail
· Confidentiality required
· Professional demeanor – this position involves interaction with Trustees, Donors, and guests
· Familiar with Microsoft 365 Suite – with proficiency in SharePoint and Excel
Responsibilities Include:
· Data Entry (including but not limited to): Expense reports; travel and accommodation tracking; scanning and labeling archival materials.
· Record keeping for Office of the President: printing, filing and file maintenance.
· Participates in the development, maintenance, and the recording of board documents (including minutes, resolutions, committee lists, orientation materials, board website, etc.).
· Performs complex administrative, secretarial, and clerical work.
· General oversight of documenting USA-based events for University.
· Support for Debs Center events and Board Meetings (Check in, reception, catering set up).
· Assist with special projects as needed.

ABOUT:
The American University of Beirut’s Debs Center is the university’s administrative and cultural headquarters in North America, where the Board of Trustees is based. Located in the heart of midtown Manhattan, the Debs Center is named in honor of Dr. Richard A. Debs, chairman emeritus of the AUB Board of Trustees. The Debs Center houses executive and financial offices. It is also home to teams dedicated to strengthening connections between AUB and the Americas through alumni relations, development, and communications activities. Our staff also works to promote AUB's wealth of knowledge and the expertise of its faculty through its Global Engagement Initiative and hosts lectures, receptions, conferences, and meetings throughout the year.
