As a Patient Coordinator, you will serve as the front-line representative, ensuring smooth operations and a welcoming environment for all patients. Your role is crucial in coordinating patient appointments, managing records, and facilitating communication between patients and healthcare providers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome and assist patients during their visit, ensuring exceptional customer service
- Manage scheduling of patient appointments and follow-ups
- Verify insurance information and process necessary authorizations
- Maintain accurate patient records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations
- Provide information to patients regarding services, treatment processes, and insurance inquiries
- Collaborate with clinical staff to support patient care and address any issues that may arise
Requirements
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate's degree in healthcare administration is preferred
- Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting is a plus
- Strong knowledge of insurance processes and familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented and fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with computers and office software
