Possession of a current Louisiana Practical Nurse license, a temporary permit, or a multi-state license issued by a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC/eNLC) state.

here.Job Duties:- Implements selective aspects of the nursing care plan, i.e., comfort, hygiene, safety measures, nutrition, etc., under progressively more generalized supervision from a Registered Nurse or Practical Nurse of a higher level.
- Observes patients for changes in physical and/or mental status or behavior and reports significant changes.
- Obtains specimens for laboratory testing as assigned.
- Takes vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure.
- Administers medication and treatments in accordance with policies and procedures.
Position-Specific Details:Appointment Type: ProbationalLocation: This position is located in the Nursing Department of the LA Veterans Home in Jackson, Louisiana. Career Progression: This position participates in a Career Progression Group (CPG) and may be filled as a LPN 1/2/3. The level at which the vacancy is filled will be determined by the qualifications of the candidate selected. This position provides the opportunity to advance within this job series.Work Schedule: This is a 12-hour shift with a rotating weekend position. 6:00 am to 6:30 pm Day Shift and 6:00 pm to 6:30 am Night Shift
Compensation: This position offers a Premium Pay of $7.00 per hour worked, plus the following Special Entrance Rates:
LPN 1: $19.48/hour
LPN 2: $20.84/hour
LPN 3: $22.30/hour
