Job Responsibilities
- Planning and managing routine patient care in acute facilities
- Monitoring patient vital signs and recording documents in a timely manner
- Evaluating the wellbeing of patients and reporting any needs to medical staff
- Maintaining the cleanliness and comfort of each patient, including bathing, feeding, and dressing
- Assisting nursing and medical staff with basic medical tasks, such as administering medication
- Changing dressings and bandages, ensuring patients are healing properly
- Moving patients to and from wheelchairs, beds, and stretchers
- Monitoring urinary and other drainage catheters
- Updating patient records in a confidential manner
- Explaining treatments and procedures to patients and families
- Being accountable to follow and adhere to patient care plans
Qualifications and Skills
- Active, unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license for Massachusetts
- 6 months experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse
- Successful completion of state required training and/or state-sanctioned competency exam
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Immunizations as required
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
