Description
- Ensures that quality nursing care is delivered to all patients on assigned nursing units, in accordance with the philosophy, policies, procedures, and program plans of the hospital; ensures patient care standards, orientation, and continuing education standards are followed.
- Demonstrates an understanding of the principles of growth and development to assess each patient's age specific needs and plans age specific treatment and care.
- Other roles and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
Education and Experience:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
- Current Illinois licensure
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- CPR certification and ACLS/PALS required.
- Minimum of five years acute care nursing experience.
- Demonstrated administrative/supervisory competence.
- Demonstrated clinical expertise and knowledge in assigned nursing areas.
- 2 - 5 years RN experience required.
Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Work is of moderate demand.
- Routine lifting requirements of less than 25 pounds.
- Standing, sitting, walking, bending, and reaching required.
- Occasional lifting may be required to assist with and/or transport patients.
- Works inside.
- May be exposed to communicable diseases.
