Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) School Health Clinic
Location: Tampa, FL
Duration: Full School Year (NSY) Contract
This role supports the daily operations of a busy school health clinic by providing essential nursing care to students. Reporting to the District RN Supervisor, the LPN will play a a crucial part in delivering health services including medication administration, emergency response, and health record management. The ideal candidate will have a Florida LPN license and possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills to manage responsibilities independently and as part of a healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer medications and provide first aid to students
- Conduct student triage and respond to medical emergencies promptly
- Maintain accurate immunization records and health documentation
- Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and school staff regarding student health issues
- Monitor diabetic students and carry out related care plans
- Collaborate and coordinate with fellow clinic nurses to ensure smooth clinic operations
- Independently manage the school health clinic during assigned shifts
- Supervise and support Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) under your care
Required Qualifications:
- Current Florida LPN license
- Pediatric nursing experience preferred but not mandatory
- Availability to work full-time within the school calendar year
