General Description
The VP of Recreational Vehicle Park Operations is a key member of the senior management team, reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
This role oversees and manages 13 resort properties, with an aim of growing the business, increasing the ROI, leading the resort managers, and making improvements to systems, procedures and processes that will benefit our staff and customers. The role allows flexible work hours and location, though it requires you to remain involved (and available to assist) with day-to-day resort operations. The role will involve travel, the working location can be at any Travel Resorts property, Corporate Office or offsite as the tasks/circumstances require.

The VP of Recreational Vehicle Park Operations typically works in a professional office environment and may require travel to various company locations or meetings. The role often involves collaboration with other executives and department heads to ensure alignment across the organization.
Duties And Responsibilities
Objectives of this role
- Collaborate with CEO in setting and driving organizational vision and resort operations strategy
- Working with CEO to oversee future Resort acquisitions
- Translate strategy into actionable steps for growth, implementing resort-wide goal setting, performance management, and annual operations planning
- Oversee resort operations and employee productivity, building a highly inclusive culture that ensures team members can thrive and that organizational goals are met
- Ensure effective recruiting, onboarding, professional development, performance management, and retention
- Ensure compliance with national and local business regulations, and take appropriate action when necessary
Responsibilities
- Analyze internal operations and identify areas for process enhancement
- Implement business strategies and plans that align with the short- and long-term objectives developed in tandem with CEO
- Manage capital investments and expenses aggressively to ensure that the company achieves targets for growth and profitability
- Prepare operational reports and management reports
- Ensure compliance on a company, state and federal level
- Drive sustainable growth and minimize losses
- Head outreach and business relations incl. KOA (Kampgrounds of America), OHI (National Outdoor Hospitality Industry Association)
- Review budgets and staffing
- Any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by CEO
Job Qualifications And Requirements
- Five or more years of experience in leadership roles with two or more RV Resorts
- Excellent leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity
- Understanding of advanced business planning and regulatory issues
- Solid grasp of data analysis and performance metrics
- Ability to diagnose problems quickly and foresee potential issues
- Knowledge of IT/business infrastructure
- Aptitude in problem-solving and decision-making
- Understanding of analytics and performance metrics
- Preferred Graduate of the National Campground Management School and/or Member of OHI for at least 3 years preferred
Working Conditions
- Indoor/Outdoor, Travel to resorts is required
Physical Requirements (Describe any physical requirements necessary for the job, i.e., Ability to lift 20 pounds)
- Often required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or manipulate keys on a keyboard.
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb/balance, stoop, kneel or crouch.
- Moderate adaptability required. Work environment occasionally hectic with short deadlines and some instances of critical or unusual situations.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
