Job Summary
At Adams Polishes and B&B Blending, Recochem Companies, our strength is the efficiency with which we deliver products and support to those we serve. To help us continue our growth, we’re seeking an experienced Director of Operations to join our highly skilled team and lead the organization’s complex growing plants and unique distribution platform. The role will have multi site responsibilities for manufacturing and distribution.

Your organizational, communication, and leadership skills are second to none and you enjoy developing solutions that push innovative boundaries. You will work closely with executives to strategize and develop long-term plans that usher in new levels of productivity and success at Adams and B&B Blending.
Objectives of this Role
- Build and manage a strong and aligned team within the site by strengthening existing relationships and cohesiveness among all departments.
- Develop and implement operational plans that align with the company and divisions strategy.
- Collaborate with executive-level management in the development of performance goals and long-term operational plans.
- Maximize efficiency and productivity through extensive process analysis and interdepartmental collaboration.
- Set strategic goals for operational efficiency and increased productivity
- Work with site managers in the development of financial and budgetary plans and be accountable for the total operational performance of site.
- Analyze current operational processes and performance, recommending solutions for improvement when necessary
- Organize and oversee the work and schedules of department managers
- Build strong relationships with stakeholder, including suppliers, customers and employees
- Deliver high quality industry leading products to customers through both bricks and mortar and online channels.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities
- Responsible for all production, scheduling, procurement, Environmental Health and Safety, Quality, Warehousing, Inventory, Shipping and building site.
- Develop, implement, and monitor day-to-day operational systems, KPI’s and processes that provide visibility into goals, progress, and obstacles for our key initiatives.
- Build and maintain relationships with all department heads, external partners, and vendors to make decisions regarding operational activity and strategic goals.
- Plan, monitor, and analyze key metrics for the day-to-day performance of the operations to ensure efficient and timely completion of tasks.
- Devise strategies to ensure growth of programs enterprise-wide, identifying and implementing process improvements/equipment that will maximize output and minimize costs.
- Uphold organization policies and standards, ensuring legislative regulations are followed, particularly for OSHA, EPA, DOT and others.
- Work closely with human resources to lead team with integrity and establish and maintain a trusting, inclusive, and productive environment.
- Maintain relationships with key raw material and finished good suppliers domestically and internationally to minimize disruptions and help manage costs / supplier negotiations.
Skills and Qualifications
- Strong leadership and management skills while be being an excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
- Previous budgeting & financial oversight for operational roles is an asset.
- Experience with CapEx requests.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science with experience in the chemical or related fields an asset.
- 10+ years senior leadership role in the appropriate field and ideally multi plants in the packaging, blending or filling industries.
- Experience with blending, bottling and filling equipment is an asset.
- Experience with distribution centers and direct to customer shipping activities like DTC and Amazon FBA/FBM.
- Superior knowledge of multiple operational functions and principles, including finance, customer service, supply chain, production, and employee management
- Proven ability to plan and manage operational process for maximum efficiency and productivity.
- Ability to streamline and implement new structures and roles that create speed, efficiency, and support rapidly shifting business demands.
- D365 (& other ERP platforms) experience is an asset.
The expected compensation for this position is an annual salary of $180,000-$200,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
