To accelerate our transformation, we are seeking a Director of Continuous Improvement to lead our CI program, strategy deployment framework, and enterprise project execution discipline.
Position Summary
The Director of Continuous Improvement, Strategy Deployment & Project Execution will lead CSI’s enterprise-wide improvement initiatives and directly support the executive team in cascading and executing the company’s strategic priorities. This role blends traditional CI leadership with ownership of strategy deployment and enterprise project execution, ensuring our strategic intent is translated into coordinated actions, delivered projects, and measurable results.
This leader will act as both change agent and program manager, driving business impact through disciplined methods, effective governance, and cultural adoption of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategy Deployment & Alignment
- Own and manage CSI’s strategy deployment framework, ensuring priorities cascade effectively into measurable annual and quarterly objectives.
- Facilitate alignment sessions with executive leadership, creating clarity on goals, accountabilities, and success metrics.
- Develop reporting and visual management tools to track progress and drive accountability.
- Continuous Improvement Leadership
- Design, implement, and sustain a comprehensive CI program leveraging Lean, Six Sigma, and best practices tailored to CSI’s business model.
- Build and manage a pipeline of high-value CI projects that deliver measurable business impact.
- Mentor, coach, and develop leaders and employees at all levels in CI tools, methods, and mindset.
- Business Project Execution
- Establish and lead the enterprise project management framework to ensure consistent execution of strategic and cross-functional initiatives.
- Oversee the governance of project portfolios, ensuring prioritization, resource alignment, and timely delivery.
- Provide project leadership on critical initiatives, ensuring outcomes are achieved on time and within scope.
- Build capability across the organization for structured project execution, balancing agility with discipline.
- Cultural Transformation
- Champion a culture of problem-solving, data-driven decision-making, and empowerment.
- Embed Shingo-inspired principles, standards, and behaviors that sustain improvement.
- Serve as a visible role model for humility, accountability, and collaboration.
- Performance Management & Governance
- Partner with functional leaders to establish standards, KPIs, and dashboards that enhance transparency and decision-making.
- Ensure governance processes link daily improvement and projects to enterprise strategic goals.
- Drive cross-functional initiatives that improve process efficiency, supplier excellence, operational transparency, and customer stickiness.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in Continuous Improvement, Operational Excellence, Transformation, or EPMO/Project Management roles.
- Proven success deploying enterprise CI programs and delivering measurable impact (cost, growth, quality, or efficiency).
- Strong experience with strategy deployment tools (Hoshin Kanri, X-Matrix, or similar).
- Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated success leading enterprise project portfolios or PMO functions.
- Track record of cultural transformation and cross-functional project leadership.
- Exceptional facilitation, coaching, and influencing skills with executives and frontline employees alike.
- Experience in manufacturing, supply chain, or engineered parts sourcing environments preferred.
