Director of Supply Chain & Procurement | National Food Manufacturer | Onsite in Dallas, TX
The Role:
A rapidly growing national food manufacturer in Dallas, TX is seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Supply Chain & Procurement to lead all end-to-end supply chain operations. This leader will oversee the planning, procurement, logistics, and distribution functions across a dynamic multi-channel business that delivers high-quality fresh food products to grocery, club, mass, specialty, and foodservice customers nationwide. This is a hands-on, onsite role for a proven leader who thrives in a fast-paced production environment, ensures operational excellence, and builds strong, collaborative teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of the supply chain function, including procurement, production planning, inventory management, logistics, and fulfillment across multiple sites and channels.
- Lead and mentor a team of 5 managers and a total department of 20+ employees, ensuring clear communication, accountability, and professional growth.
- Develop and implement strategic supply chain plans that align with company goals around service, quality, cost efficiency, and scalability.
- Partner closely with operations, finance, production, and sales to optimize forecasting, scheduling, and capacity planning to meet customer demand.
- Direct procurement and sourcing initiatives for ingredients, packaging, and materials - negotiating supplier agreements and driving cost improvement while maintaining product quality.
- Oversee distribution and logistics operations, ensuring on-time delivery, minimal waste, and optimized freight spend.
- Monitor and report on key KPIs, including fill rates, forecast accuracy, working capital, and OTIF performance; identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Champion the use of technology and data-driven decision-making; NetSuite ERP experience is highly preferred.
- Ensure full compliance with food safety, regulatory, and quality standards across all supply chain and procurement activities.
Ideal Candidate:
- 10+ years of progressive experience in supply chain, operations, or procurement, preferably within the food manufacturing industry.
- Proven track record leading cross-functional teams in a high-volume, fast-moving production environment.
- Strong understanding of end-to-end supply chain management - from supplier relations and production scheduling to logistics and fulfillment.
- Experience working with major retail and foodservice customers a plus.
- Deep analytical skills with the ability to translate data into strategic and operational improvements.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building abilities.
- ERP system proficiency required; NetSuite experience highly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Bilingual Spanish a PLUS but not required
