We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Operations Manager to oversee the production and quality control of our collectible card products. This role will lead all aspects of the manufacturing process, ensuring the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and innovation in collectible card production.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct all manufacturing operations for collectible card production, including printing, cutting, packaging, and finishing processes
- Manage production scheduling and workflow optimization to meet release deadlines and production targets
- Oversee quality control procedures throughout the manufacturing process, with special attention to color accuracy, card stock quality, and special treatments (foiling, embossing, etc.)
- Lead a team of production specialists, machine operators, and quality control technicians
- Collaborate with design teams to ensure manufacturability of new card designs and special treatments
- Manage relationships with suppliers of specialized materials (card stock, foils, inks, security features)
- Implement and maintain inventory control systems for raw materials and finished products
- Develop and enforce manufacturing standard operating procedures and safety protocols
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste
- Oversee equipment maintenance and calibration to ensure optimal performance
- Maintain compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, preferably in printing, playing cards, or related specialty paper products
- Demonstrated knowledge of printing technologies (offset, digital, specialty finishes)
- Experience with quality control processes for precision printing applications
- Strong technical understanding of materials science related to card manufacturing
- Proven track record in production management and process optimization
- Excellent leadership abilities with experience managing manufacturing teams
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot production issues
- Familiarity with manufacturing software and inventory management systems
- Engineering, Operations Management, or related field
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience specifically in collectible cards, trading card, or playing card manufacturing
- Knowledge of security printing techniques and anti-counterfeiting measures
- Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma certification
- Experience with implementing automation in precision manufacturing environments
- Understanding of collectible card industry standards and consumer expectations
