The Director of Marketing is a champion for the brand - helping to ensure that everything produced reinforces and builds brand equity. This role helps to drive awareness of the brand, positive brand perceptions, and product understanding through the development and execution of messaging, content, photography, and branded materials. This is a critical role on the Marketing team and one that requires a high degree of professional accomplishment, proven management skills and creative abilities.
Company headquarters and role are located in Chicago, Illinois, with manufacturing and engineering based in Galesburg, Michigan.
What You’ll Do as Brand Manager:
- Lead development of annual messaging and content calendar for the brand across all channels - with significant focus on website, social media, digital marketing content, and email marketing.
- Lead efforts to develop and capture content needed throughout the year across all marketing tactics from digital to printed. Manage timelines and creative resources and partners.
- Drive social media efforts for the brand. Develop strategy for various platforms, manage execution and monitor performance in conjunction with Social Media Coordinator. Provide insights and opportunities to optimize strategies to the team.
- Manage various streams of emails (recipes, product news, owner care, design professional, etc.). Develop email marketing calendar and develop assets as needed. Review and manage analytics, providing insights and making recommendations for improvements.
- Manage content on website. Assess needs, lead efforts to refresh imagery, written content, and additional assets as needed.
- Lead development and execution of marketing plans for launches and key initiatives
- Partner with internal teams to lead planning and manage various events throughout the year to ensure they are executed on brand.
- Lead development of collateral for brand - catalogs, brochures and other assets needed for various sales channels.
- Collaborate with and manage agency partners, sales team, and internal teams (product, operations, engineering) on a regular basis.
- Continuously stay up to date on competitive market and trends
What You Have:
- 5-7 years experience leading social marketing efforts across multiple platforms
- Proven experience leading content planning, development, and execution
- Minimum 5 years leading email marketing program with multiple streams of communication, including automated emails.
- Outstanding writing skills and a strong sense of storytelling with ability to craft narratives for content.
- Track record of success managing brand marketing across variety of tactics and channels
- Proven ability to think strategically with willingness to get hands dirty
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with experience working across all levels of management
- Experience with consumer brand and luxury brands highly desirable
- Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, or related field
- 10 years of solid marketing communications experience
- Ability to travel – 15%
