Job Summary:
We seek an experienced Vice President of Operations to lead and optimize our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will bring leadership experience from a larger company environment and demonstrate a strong commitment to Lean manufacturing principles, quality assurance, and safety culture. This role oversees daily operations, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and leads a high-performing team of 150+ employees.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic and hands-on leadership for all aspects of manufacturing operations, including production, quality, safety, maintenance, and supply chain functions.
- Implement and reinforce Lean manufacturing practices to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and drive operational excellence.
- Cultivate a safety-first culture and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
- Establish and track output, quality, safety, cost, and on-time delivery KPIs.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and employee engagement.
- Develop and mentor a team of operations leaders, supervisors, and frontline staff to achieve company goals.
- Lead efforts to improve product quality and consistency through root cause analysis, corrective action plans, and preventive strategies.
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and capital project planning for operations-related initiatives.
- Serve as a key contributor to the company’s strategic planning process.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or a related field.
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing operations, with at least 5 years in a senior operations role.
- Proven experience in a larger company setting with responsibility for 150+ employees.
- Demonstrated expertise in Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies (Six Sigma certification is a plus).
- Strong track record of improving safety, output, and product quality.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Steady and reliable job history reflecting a strong commitment to operational excellence.
