About the Role:
The Extruder Area Lead plays a key role in supporting the Extrusion department’s daily operations by leading a frontline team to meet safety, quality, production, and efficiency goals. This position focuses on hands-on supervision, coaching, and problem-solving to ensure smooth workflow and adherence to standards. This is an excellent opportunity for professionals looking to grow into broader leadership responsibilities.
What You’re Going to Do:
- Lead and supervise the extrusion operators and technicians, providing day-to-day guidance and support.
- Ensure all safety, quality, environmental, and production procedures are strictly followed.
- Monitor production targets, KPIs, and schedules to maintain operational efficiency.
- Identify and resolve operational issues quickly, escalating to management when necessary.
- Assist in root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.
- Support inventory management of LDPE and specialty resins in coordination with the manager.
- Foster a positive team environment that encourages professional development and engagement.
- Collaborate with maintenance and quality teams to ensure equipment reliability and product standards.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and promote best practices on the floor.
- Perform other tasks as assigned to support department goals.
What We Expect from You:
- Technical background, ideally with a degree or certification in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing, preferably in extrusion or converting operations.
- Proven experience leading or supervising frontline teams in a production environment.
- Strong understanding of safety, quality, and production standards.
- Problem-solving skills and ability to act quickly in operational situations.
- Good communication skills for effective team leadership and cross-department collaboration.
- Basic knowledge of inventory and material handling preferred.
- Familiarity with SAP, Microsoft Office, or production monitoring tools is a plus.
- Commitment to continuous learning and operational excellence.
