The
Sr. Manager, Supply Chain provides strategic leadership, superior customer service, project leadership and operational support in inventory management, product replenishment, forecasting, budgeting, and continuous improvement. Position plays a key role in a customer driven supply chain organization charged with identifying, implementing and enhancing successful methods of delivering superior service and the lowest cost.
This position supports our
Friedrich Air Conditioning business, based in
San Antonio, TX. This is a Hybrid position.
Responsibilities
- Lead inventory planning for Friedrich’s room air product categories, guiding demand planning through a data-driven approach supported by market insights from the sales team.
- Facilitate cross-functional meetings and demonstrate intellectual curiosity to understand how Friedrich’s HVAC products serve diverse market segments such as retail appliance dealers, hotel and lodging, MROs, and HVAC distributors.
- Support global sourcing strategies for finished goods and components, playing a key role in supplier relationships with both Asian and North American vendors.
- Ensure consistent application of industry-leading, continuously improved business practices.
- Act as an internal consultant on supply chain-related issues; design and implement improvements to support business growth and strategic initiatives.
- Manage supply chain’s impact on working capital, ensuring financial risk is mitigated.
- Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams to determine optimal stocking strategies across Friedrich’s distribution centers.
- Develop inventory management strategies to maximize inventory turns, secure best pricing, maintain high quality, and ensure consistent support to manufacturing.
- Collaborate with manufacturing to evaluate outsourcing and insourcing opportunities.
- Identify key suppliers and cultivate long-term, mutually beneficial relationships to ensure sustained success.
- Hold suppliers accountable for continuous improvement initiatives, including lead time reduction, schedule flexibility, quality enhancement, inventory reduction, and cost savings.
- Oversee the business unit’s logistics function, including development and maintenance of inventory controls.
- Create and execute communication and management of resources across business segments.
- Establish the SIOP processes to provide better market intelligence, improve demand planning accuracy, balance the supply and demand plan with a forward-looking view, and highlight areas of risk for contingency planning and decision making.
- Support demand planning process designed to integrate feedback from Sales, Marketing, Operation, Scheduling, Finance, Logistics, and Sourcing teams to develop the monthly, quarterly and annual demand consensus plan by channel, key customers and products.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, or a related analytical business field.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in logistics, supply chain, and distribution.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite and ERP/MRP systems; Oracle ERP experience is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in a matrixed team environment.
- Strong, results oriented leadership that includes development and deployment of improvement initiatives, timelines, and budgets.

- Multi-lingual proficiency – English and Spanish
- Experience in an HVAC manufacturing environment preferred.
- International supplier experience.
- Proficiency is working with large data sets.
