What you should know: Mulberry has partnered a 100% employee-owned automotive manufacturing organization to hire a Plant Manager to oversee two locations. They are headquartered in Vancouver, WA and have over 5,000 employees globally. The organization fosters a collaborative, kind, and stable culture. They invest in their people, with an average tenure of 10+ years and a strong leadership team. The Plant Manager will report directly to their Director of Operations and lead all aspects of plant operations across both union and non-union sites. They are seeking a grounded, hands-on, servant leader with strong financial, operational, and people managerial acumen.
A day in the life:
- Determines and establishes long-term and short-term objectives consistent with the business strategy, financial targets, sales forecasts and other related factors.
- Responsible for the overall business P&L.
- Develops and proposes an Annual Plan and Capital Expense budget.
- Develops the weekly operating forecast, measures result and develops actions to correct any gaps or deficiencies.
- Executes to the approved plan and budget.
- Actively coaches and develops direct reports.
- Encourages the development of improved manufacturing methods, layouts, equipment, and techniques. Conducts a continuous cost reduction program throughout the plant.
- Plans, organizes and implements the necessary controls and measurements to ensure the efficient, cost effective manufacturing operations that obtain objectives in the areas of Safety, Productivity, Cost, Quality and Customer Satisfaction.
- Works directly with suppliers and internal resources to address quality issues and leads action plans.
- Reviews plant results both with division and corporate leadership as well as plant-based personnel.
- Ensures quality standards are met through testing products as necessary, identifying root cause for any defects and implementing action plans to remove manufacturing deficiencies.
Your areas of knowledge and expertise:
- 7-10+ years in manufacturing operations
- 5-10+ years of progressive leadership experience
- Heavy manufacturing experience required; automotive experience highly desired
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related preferred
- Servant leadership style, a problem solver, and kind
Compensation and Benefits: $150-$170K/annually with annual prorated bonus potential, strong healthcare benefits, discretionary PTO, ESOP, 401k match, wellness reimbursement, and more!
