Job Description
Pay rate range: $38/hr + $2/hr shift premium after 4pm.
Avg salary: $110,000+/per year

Schedule: The position currently operates
Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM, but hours will gradually extend later into the evening. Our long-term plan is to transition this role into a
night shift, so schedule flexibility is essential.
Location: Rock Island, IL
Position:
Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Production Machine Operator will be responsible for the safe and efficient production of the paver and block equipment. This individual must have industrial mechanic competencies and be able to learn how to adjust, troubleshoot, repair and operate machinery in the facility. The chosen candidate will train on day or night shift.
- Lead and oversee a team of general laborers during production shifts.
- Operate automated and manual production machinery to meet daily production targets while ensuring product quality.
- Perform equipment setup, changeovers, and basic preventative maintenance tasks.
- Utilize tools and measuring devices to adjust, inspect, and maintain machinery.
- Accurately complete production logs, maintenance reports, and quality checklists.
- Dismantle and reassemble heavy plant equipment using hoists and manual tools when necessary.
- Identify equipment issues and perform minor repairs or escalate to maintenance to minimize downtime.
- Communicate clearly with incoming operators and supervisors during shift transitions.
- Support the Chief Operator in daily operations and perform other duties as assigned.
- Adhere to all policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with safety protocols.

Qualifications
- Diploma in Industrial Mechanic or Electro-mechanic
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Proven ability to operate and maintain mechanical equipment safely and effectively.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and compliance.
- Proficient computer skills, including basic data entry for production and maintenance reporting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and solve problems proactively.
- Availability to work flexible shifts, including overtime as required.
- Demonstrated adaptability, professionalism, and strong organizational skills.
Working Conditions:
- Industrial plant environment with exposure to noise, dust, and moving machinery.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory.
