Job Summary and Qualifications
The Dietitian provides nutrition screening assessment, and education to patients to meet their nutritional needs as indicated by diet orders prescribed by medical staff. All services provided within the scope of practice for Registered Dietitians as defined by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Works in an interdisciplinary team fashion with other patient care providers.
You will performtimely nutrition screenings and assessmentsin accordance with the Corporate Screening and Assessment Policy
You will perform nutrition focused physical exams on patients who are at nutritional risk.
You will Identify patients at nutritional risk based on established criteria
You will evaluate age specific, developmental and disease specific nutritional needs of patients
You will Develop and implement individualized nutritional plan of care.
You will Evaluate and monitor the effectiveness and outcomes of medical nutrition therapy interventions.
You will identify patient nutrition education needs and provide nutrition counseling to patients, family, and/or caregivers.
You will Participate in the competency assessment process and achieve a passing score of 80% or higher on RD chart audits
Maintains current registration through the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
Minimum completion of bachelors degree (four-year accredited program) in Nutrition/Dietetics or relatedfield.
One to two years clinical experience in a healthcare facility preferred.
CDE or CNSD may be beneficial.
Strong customer service skills preferred.
