Job Summary:
Our client is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Head of Logistics to oversee the end-to-end movement of materials across our supply chain, including domestic and international freight. This leadership role is pivotal in driving vertical integration, managing internal freight
operations, optimizing freight brokerage, and spearheading cost-saving logistics initiatives. The
ideal candidate will ensure seamless transportation from vendor pickup to final delivery at our
multiple manufacturing and distribution facilities, while continuously improving our freight and
courier processes, including courier and other parcel shipping services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of inbound and outbound freight, both national and international, including raw materials, packaging, and finished goods, across multiple facilities.
- Lead initiatives to internalize freight operations, reduce reliance on third-party providers,
and build internal freight capabilities.
- Optimize the use of freight brokers, ensuring cost-effectiveness, service quality, and
compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Oversee small parcel shipping operations, ensuring reliability, negotiated rates, and timely execution.
- Develop and manage processes for timely pickup of materials from suppliers and vendors, including establishing scheduled pickup routes and managing exceptions.
- Identify, prioritize, and execute logistics and supply chain projects that improve efficiency, reduce costs, and increase responsiveness.
- Drive continuous improvement in logistics cost per unit, transit times, and service levels;
report KPIs to senior leadership regularly.
- Work closely with Procurement, Manufacturing, Customer Service, and Finance to align
logistics strategies with overall business goals.
- Build and lead a high-performing logistics team with a strong focus on execution,
accountability, and innovation.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in logistics or supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
- Proven experience managing both international and domestic freight
- Strong understanding of freight brokerage and parcel shipping
- Experience with ERP, TMS, and logistics analytics platforms
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and project management skills
