We are seeking a hands-on, experienced Plant Manager to oversee daily operations across two production floors. This role is responsible for meeting production targets, ensuring product quality, maintaining safety standards, and driving continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader who builds a culture of accountability, efficiency, and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
Production Oversight
- Manage daily production schedules and optimize resources to meet customer demand.
- Identify and resolve production issues to improve throughput and efficiency.
- Ensure production goals are met within budget and deadlines.
Team Leadership
- Lead and develop production staff, including supervisors, operators, and assemblers.
- Conduct performance evaluations, set goals, and provide ongoing coaching.
- Oversee hiring, training, and staff performance management.
Quality & Compliance
- Enforce quality control procedures and ensure products meet standards.
- Partner with QA to address issues and drive corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, ISO, and company policies.
Safety & Risk Management
- Promote a strong safety culture and lead regular safety audits.
- Investigate incidents and implement preventive measures.
Inventory & Supply Chain
- Coordinate with purchasing to maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Minimize production waste and ensure material availability.
Continuous Improvement
- Drive process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
- Track and report key performance metrics (KPIs).
- Maintain facility and equipment in peak operating condition.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field (preferred)
- 5+ years of plant or production management in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with steel fabrication, stamping presses/dies, and building materials (preferred)
- Proven supervisory and coaching experience
- Strong leadership, communication, and time management skills
- Proficiency in spreadsheets and ERP systems
- Fluent in English (reading, writing, and speaking)
Work Environment
- Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 60 lbs
- Capable of bending, stooping, pushing/pulling, and assembling small parts
- Exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures in semi-climate-controlled areas
