Support Services Specialist to join our

Key Responsibilities
- Schedule and coordinate patient appointments using AxiUm and Epic systems.
- Manage provider calendars and daily clinic schedules.
- Verify insurance coverage and obtain pre-authorizations.
- Collect co-pays and assist with patient billing questions.
- Coordinate referrals and ensure necessary documentation is available.
- Communicate with patients, providers, and external offices.
- Train new staff, residents, and student employees on clinic protocols.
- Resolve scheduling conflicts and urgent care needs.
- Support clinic workflow and contribute to process improvements.
- Maintain accurate patient records and appointment data.
Salary: $39,974.40 to commensurate (Pay Grade: 3A)
Schedule: 32 hours per work, To Be Determined between Monday – Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm
May require occasional overtime.
Work Location: On-Site
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience is required.
- 6 months – 1-year relevant experience in a health care environment, including the following skillsets:
- Experience scheduling for multiple providers in a healthcare environment
- Experience gathering and verifying insurance coverage
- Experience with electronic health records
- Experience working in Windows based networked database using multiple data tools
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience with dental terminology
- Some knowledge of university policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Experience in a public health setting
- Experience utilizing active conflict management/resolution skills and de-escalation techniques.
