On behalf of our client, a growing mid-sized pharmaceutical company with a strong global footprint, we are currently seeking an accomplished and strategic Site Head to lead operations at their API manufacturing facility in Massachusetts.
This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned manufacturing leader to join a science-driven organization with a strong culture of quality, innovation, and operational excellence. The successful candidate will play a critical role in shaping site strategy, driving performance, and ensuring compliance in a regulated manufacturing environment.
About the Role:
Our client’s Massachusetts site is a key hub for their global API supply chain. As Site Head, you will have full accountability for site operations, including production, quality, supply chain, engineering, and EHS. This leadership role requires a balance of hands-on operational oversight and strategic foresight.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of API manufacturing operations, ensuring compliance with cGMP, FDA, and international regulatory standards.
- Lead cross-functional teams across production, quality, engineering, and logistics to deliver on key operational KPIs.
- Serve as the primary site leader and interface with corporate leadership on performance, planning, and strategic initiatives.
- Champion a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and employee engagement.
- Represent the site during regulatory inspections and external audits.
- Manage site budget, resources, and capital planning to ensure operational efficiency and future scalability.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Pharmacy, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 10 years in pharmaceutical manufacturing, with significant experience in API operations.
- At least 5 years in a senior leadership role, preferably as a Site Head or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements (FDA, EMA, etc.).
- Demonstrated success in driving operational excellence and leading high-performing teams.
- Experience with tech transfers, scale-ups, and supporting new product introductions is highly desirable.
