Summary:
The Senior Manager – Manufacturing Operations will lead daily manufacturing activities at our advanced EMS facility in Suwanee, GA, with a strong emphasis on PCB assembly and electronic component manufacturing. This role ensures operational efficiency, quality, safety, and continuous improvement across the production floor. The candidate will be responsible for shopfloor execution, team supervision, productivity enhancement, and maintaining compliance with applicable industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manufacturing Leadership: Direct and supervise daily operations across the shop floor, with a focus on PCB assembly, SMT, through-hole, and final integration processes.
- Team Management: Lead, train, and mentor production supervisors, operators, and technicians to ensure high levels of engagement, efficiency, and output.
- Production Planning & Execution: Collaborate with planning, supply chain, and engineering to meet production schedules, quality targets, and customer delivery requirements.
- Process Optimization: Identify and implement lean manufacturing practices, Six Sigma tools, and process automation to enhance yield, reduce rework, and improve productivity.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., IPC-A-610, ISO 9001, AS9100 if applicable), customer requirements, and internal quality expectations.
- Equipment & Facility Oversight: Maintain equipment uptime, coordinate preventive maintenance schedules, and ensure adherence to safety standards (OSHA).
- Data-Driven Management: Use KPIs and real-time data to monitor production efficiency, downtime, scrap rates, and workforce productivity. Take corrective actions as needed.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Engineering, Quality, Program Management, and Supply Chain to drive alignment and continuous improvement across departments.
Candidate Profile:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electronics, or related field.
- Certifications in Lean, Six Sigma, or Operations Management preferred.
Experience:
- Experience within the Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) domain, with demonstrated expertise in running high-mix, low-to-medium volume production environments
- Minimum 5+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing operations, with at least 2 years in a leadership role within an Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) environment.
- Experience in PCB assembly, SMT processes, and electronic products build in a vertically integrated manufacturing setup.
Technical & Leadership Skills:
- Strong understanding of electronics manufacturing processes, equipment, and quality standards (IPC, ISO, AS).
- Hands-on experience with ERP/MES systems and production planning tools.
- Effective communicator with the ability to lead by example, resolve conflicts, and build cohesive teams.
- Results-oriented mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
