VP, OPERATIONS EXCELLENCE
Serena & Lily, a direct-to-consumer, luxury home furnishings company – is looking for a Vice President of Operations Excellence. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the VP of Operations Excellence will be a catalyst for change, driving best-in-class operational performance across our digital fulfillment network, distribution centers, and end-to-end supply chain. This role does not have a direct team but requires exceptional cross-functional leadership to identify and implement process improvements that deliver meaningful financial savings, cost efficiency, and improved customer outcomes.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop Operations Excellence Strategy: Build and execute an enterprise-wide roadmap that aligns with the company’s strategic goals for profitable growth.
- Drive Continuous Improvement: Champion a culture of continuous improvement, using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies, to streamline processes and eliminate waste.
- Identify & Deliver Financial Savings: Lead initiatives to uncover cost savings opportunities across the supply chain, procurement, inventory management, and fulfillment operations while maintaining or improving service levels.
- Facilitate Cross-Functional Projects: Partner with leaders in supply chain, distribution, sourcing, merchandising, IT, and finance to align improvement initiatives with business priorities.
- Influence Without Authority: Inspire and engage stakeholders at all levels to embrace operational excellence and sustain changes.
- Measure & Report Impact: Develop key metrics and scorecards to track performance, quantify financial impact, and ensure accountability for savings goals.
- Change Management: Guide teams through process changes, ensuring effective adoption, training, and sustainability of new practices.
- Stay Ahead of Trends: Monitor industry trends and emerging best practices to continually evolve operational capabilities and cost competitiveness.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 15+ years of progressive experience in operations, supply chain, or process improvement roles within retail, e-commerce, or consumer goods.
- Demonstrated success delivering measurable financial savings through enterprise-wide continuous improvement and cost-reduction programs.
- Deep experience in Lean, Six Sigma, or related methodologies (certification strongly preferred).
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and lead initiatives in a matrixed environment without direct authority.
- Strong financial acumen and data-driven problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and change management capabilities.
- Willingness to travel as needed to company facilities, vendors, and partners.
COMPENSATION:
- $215-240k per year is the anticipated starting base pay for this role. This range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for this role. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: experience, education, and skills.
