As the Pharmacy Nurse, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring timely, compliant, and cost-effective
delivery of medications to our residents and Veterans. You'll support clinical excellence by monitoring pharmacy services, collaborating with providers, and helping maintain regulatory compliance — all while making a meaningful impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate pharmacy services to ensure timely medication delivery and adherence to VA/Touchstone policies
- Maintain compliance with the VA formulary; submit non-formulary requests as needed
- Conduct routine audits of medication storage and drug reconciliation
- Monitor infection control trends and support survey readiness
- Assist with medication destruction and ensure accurate documentation
- Provide monthly drug regimen reviews, reporting any irregularities to the Director of Nursing
- Collaborate with leadership and provide written/oral updates to the VLB, DON, and Administrator
- Ensure physicians’ orders meet compliance standards and regulatory expectations
- Build positive relationships with families, residents, and interdisciplinary teams
