Director of Manufacturing Job Description:
Director Responsibilities:
• Continuously revise training plans to meet new and existing company policies and procedures.
• Lead, direct, and monitor every aspect of production in the manufacturing plant with strong cross functional leadership.
• Comply with company policy and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)
• Prepare and maintain a fully staffed and well-trained workforce.
• Supervise manufacturing planning, scheduling, quality adherence, processing, materials management, and packaging.
• Perform closely with every department.
• Execute strategies and practices to constantly improve production capability, quality, costs, and order fulfillment.
• Maintain and enhance employee safety and well-being
• Train and prepare direct reports on performance management and succession planning.
• Propose, prepare, and execute initiatives to enhance profitability.
• Ensure to maximize production efficiency as well as optimize manpower usage.
• Develop and supervise annual manufacturing budgets.
• Ensure to comply with all manufacturing reporting as needed.
• Facilitate and supervise new R&D project transition to manufacturing processes.
• Develop processes to ensure “best in class” food safety and quality standards.
• Review and analyze daily productivity, waste, and quality reports. Review and analyze financial, statistical, and trend analysis reports.
• Ensuring staff are held accountable for responsibilities, standards and goals assigned. Proper actions are taken and followed up if not met.
• Develop new department SOPs to push for better performance.
• Work with cross functional department leadership.
• Available to provide the needed leadership and guidance during off hours and weekends.

• Be knowledgeable in SQF, OSHA, HACCP, Gemba, 5S
• Plant & line efficiencies at/or above standard
• Product yields at/or above standard
• Waste at/or above standard
• Labor at/or above standard
• Production & Change Over Downtime Standards
• Production schedule attainment
• Audit readiness
Qualifications:
• Preferably trained and certified in Lean Six Sigman Black Belt.
• Preferably two (2) years as a Production Manager or a four (4) year degree in a relevant field.
• Six (6) plus years of leadership experience.
• Ability and willingness to communicate with and give feedback to subordinate managers and company leadership.
• Possess knowledge of large-scale bakery and/or frozen dough manufacturing facility.
