Job Summary
We are looking for a hands-on Continuous Improvement Lead to drive improvement projects by working directly with all stakeholders including Operators on the plant floor. The ideal candidate will have a background in lean manufacturing and Six Sigma, with experience coaching and mentoring teams to solve problems and implement process improvements. This role is a member of the Production team, collaborating cross functionally with manufacturing teams, manufacturing support teams, and site leadership.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead and manage continuous improvement projects in the manufacturing areas. Will also plan a key leadership role in CI projects in other areas across the site. Strong communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage and present recommendations to senior leadership Oversight for training, introduction and optimization of lean tools and processes across the site such as 6S, Standard Work, Visual Management, Meeting Effectiveness, Gemba and Kaizen. Lead value stream mapping workshop in order to identify and drive improvement projects Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving skills Develop 3-5 Year C.I. Strategic Plan in conjunction Strong analytical skills and data-driven decision-making capabilities Ability to work collaboratively and build strong relationships across the organization Demonstrated ability to drive change and foster a culture of continuous improvement A strong sense of prioritization and time management Ability to prioritize work, influence team members to execute, and measure success Overall success leads to annual P&L financial savings target and execution of plans for process improvement Work with Operators and area leaders to implement Lean and Six Sigma tools Coach and train plant floor teams to improve processes Identify and eliminate inefficiencies to drive operational excellence
Job Qualifications
Education: B.S./B.A./M.S. or equivalent in engineering and/or related discipline. Formal Black Belt Qualification or experience of oversight of signification continuous improvement change programs is desired. Experience: 6+ years related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above. Certification/Licensure: PMP or project management experience. Six Sigma green belt or black belt certification a plus. Other: Effective communication and interpersonal skills required. Demonstrated computer skills (data input, word processing) required. Experience with project management software and tools such as Microsoft project, smart sheet or similar. Extensive experience in biotech industry in process development, process scale up, tech transfer and manufacturing. Experience in the design, installation, and operations of GMP processes and equipment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must regularly operate a computer and occasionally operate other office productivity machinery such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer. Regularly provides information to and receives information from/through various technologies, media, sources and contacts. Must be able to accurately exchange accurate information in these situations. Ability to move about the manufacturing environment, including operating within clean rooms and other controlled areas
Work Environment
The employee must be able to follow site safety procedures as they will occasionally work near moving mechanical parts; in high, precarious places; and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is moderate.
Compensation Data
The pay range for this position is $130,000 – $145,000. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, and location.
