This confidential company is seeking a Director of Operations to scale and optimize business and technology operations. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in silicon hardware and semiconductor manufacturing, with the ability to work across engineering and operational teams. This is a hands-on leadership role in a fast-paced, startup-like environment, requiring a balance of technical understanding, cross-functional coordination, and supply chain execution.
Role
- Drive day-to-day execution of semiconductor operations, including foundry engagement, assembly, and test processes
- Manage and optimize supply chain operations for both internal development and external manufacturing partners
- Own vendor relationships and contribute to cost modeling for market-ready product pricing
- Support and coordinate the introduction of new silicon and system-level products (NPI)
- Collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to ensure alignment between development cycles and operational readiness
- Assist in developing and executing negotiation strategies for key supplier and partner agreements
- Enable high-volume production planning and ramp strategies for hardware products
- Play a key role in developing the operations roadmap and supporting the build-out of the operations team
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in semiconductor or hardware operations, including hands-on exposure to chip manufacturing, packaging, or supply chain logistics
- Proven leadership experience managing complex technical operations across internal and external stakeholders
- Strong understanding of silicon hardware technologies and product development cycles
- Experience with vendor management, contract negotiation, and product cost analysis
- BSEE/MSEE or equivalent technical degree required; MBA or business exposure is a plus
