Team members get to practice at the top of their licensure on a high functioning team. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team is core to what we do. The unit is a 24 bed inpatient unit that cares for critically ill but stable patients including extensive wound management, pulmonary interventions, frequent neurological assessments, cardiac dysrhythmias, and management of continuous intravenous drips. Common admission diagnoses include sepsis, alcohol withdrawal, COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, and acute CHF exacerbation. Many patients have chronic co-morbidities requiring skillful management during acute illness. The RN Clinical Nurse provides patient-centered, specialized, evidence-based nursing care across the continuum through an interprofessional approach to treatment, research, education, and advocacy. The RN is accountable for compassionate and safe care within the scope of practice as defined by the Wisconsin Board of Nursing and ThedaCare policy. The RN collaborates with the care team and is responsible for patient outcomes meeting ThedaCare's high quality standards. The role promotes a culture of innovation and professional development. Schedule is straight nights 7p-7a, every 3rd weekend required, holiday rotation. Qualifications include current Wisconsin RN licensure, BSN or ADN with agreement to obtain BSN within five years, and BLS certification. Physical demands include ability to move freely and lift up to 50 pounds, exposure to blood borne pathogens, and manual dexterity for patient care procedures. Scheduled weekly hours are 24 with a 0.6 FTE.
