Position Description
This critical role oversees key teams and drives quality, consistency, and innovation in product manufacturing. As a leader, you will champion a continuous improvement and team mentality within the departments reporting to this position. The Director of Manufacturing will manage team leaders overseeing extraction, packaging and production operations, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and product quality. This role emphasizes strategic planning, process improvement, and leader development to support the organization's commitment to serving our patient's needs.
Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To
- Operational Strategy: Develop and execute strategies to optimize production efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance overall product quality.
- Safety: Lead the creation of a world class safety culture in a manufacturing environment.
- Cost Control: Monitor and control operational costs, identifying opportunities for cost reduction without compromising quality or safety.
- Capacity Optimization: Assess and optimize production capacity to meet current and future demands, considering equipment limitations and potential expansion opportunities.
- Team Leadership: Provide effective leadership to Manufacturing teams, develop employees/managers, foster a collaborative and results-driven work environment that leaves employees feeling valued for their contributions.
- Accountability: Creates a culture of accountability, delegates in a highly effective manner, and develops leaders to support succession planning and organizational resilience.
- Capital Improvements: Identifies, advocates for, and implements manufacturing capital improvement projects in support of long-term strategic plans.
- Drives disciplined and timely root cause analysis and corrective action in response to production related deviations in quality, efficiency and financial reporting.
- Performance Metrics: Establish and enforce a uniform method of data collection that allows monitoring of key performance indicators (KPIs) to gauge operational efficiency, track progress, and drive continuous improvement efforts.
- Identifies and takes advantage of opportunities for personal development and knowledge accumulation to ensure that the company stays ahead of cannabis manufacturing industry trends.
Qualifications And Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in operations management, business, engineering, or related field.
- 7+ Years experience leading high-volume manufacturing, extraction/lab production, food production, or related field required. Cannabis industry experience preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Capable of sitting, standing, kneeling, bending, squatting, and/or walking for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must remain compliant with company policies and state/federal regulations.
